A piece of equipment which floats in liquid. The amount of buoyancy indicates the density of the fluid and therefore it’s specific gravity. Used by brewers and wine makers. The more sugar then the higher the specific gravity. The starting specific gravity will determine how sweet the finish product will be and its alcoholic content.
