castellations

Notches in a metal strip to correctly space hive frames. The metal strip is pinned to the frame ledges inside a brood box or super. They can be 8, 9, 10, or 11 space depending on the spacing you require. For some reason many beekeepers seem to be fiercely against castellations, without ever having tried them. A bit like PC users were with Apple Macs, before they became trendy.
